Dogspeed to you, Eclipse, the bus riding dog
In about 2015, reports came out about Eclipse, a Seattle dog who had learned to take a bus from her home to a local dog park and back by herself. Eclipse, the then famous Seattle's bus dog, was reported to be about two years old at the time.
And no, she was not being neglected. Her owner seemed quite caring and loving - he just noticed the progress she was making it figuring out the skill of walking safely on sidewalks, dealing with human pedestrians, getting on and off the buss, etc. And when he felt Eclipse knew how to get around by bus safely, he let her do that - never to be proven wrong as she had spent years traveling to and from her favorite dog park by herself, taking a bus, almost on a daily basis.
Sadly, several days ago Eclipse had crossed the rainbow bridge. The cause of death was alleged to have been cancerous tumors. Go easy, girl, you were one awesome dog and had touched many lives.
