Record low percentage of Americans believe in God: Gallup
As reported by DuckHK, a Gallup poll has discovered that only 81% of respondents to its poll reported themselves as those who believe in God, down 6% from the same poll conducted in 2017. DuckHK believes that those who have left formal religion largely have joined the ranks of statists and shifted to believing in the power of the state as a replacement of the power of God. While I am sure that applies to some I suspect another, and potentially more sinister, transformation may be afoot.
The transformation I am referring to it an effective regression from monotheistic formal religions to various belief systems that are effectively pagan cults. And yes, statism in some of it aspects, a pagan cult too - a belief in human occupants issued certain credentials by a human-defined abstraction. But the "woke cult" is certainly one of the cults I believe have picked up many of those who no longer call themselves Christians or Judaists or Muslims.
Cults are typically devoid of universal morals and conducive to fragmented, short-term thinking. That makes them potentially dangerous. That is also why it is important to show these cults for what they are and to work on uncovering their delusions and deceptions, to hopefully keep their destructive potential to a minimum.
